Mr. Deng Shurui from the UK Department of International Trade Visited the Water Company

Onthe morning of May 17, Deng Shurui, Head of Department of Environment andInfrastructure Industry of the UK Department of International Trade in China, accompaniedwith other six colleagues, visited the Water Company, and Du Fengsha, GM ofWater Company and other leaders made a great reception to the British guests,followed a meeting.

Mr.Du introduced the development of Water Company based in Africa, focusing onwater business, detailed the African projects to the guests, and answered thewhole process of the African water project, the fund source, and personnelsafety etc.

Mr.Deng introduced the functions and priorities of the UK Department ofInternational Trade and the British Consulate General in Shanghai. He said thathe hopes to deepen understanding through this visit and achieve the cooperationbetween China and Britain in the countries along the “One Belt, One Road”strategy.

Theaccompanying leaders of HSBC, the Insurance Group and the ARUP Group also expressedtheir interest in the water industry. They believe that water is very importantand precious for African people and appreciate that the Water Company are completinga great cause. Xu Jiawei, from the British-Chinese Trade Association, said thatthey will follow up with British companies, communicate with CGCOC, and seek commondevelopment opportunities in Africa. Liang Jieru, Senior Trade Investment Officerof the UK Department of International Trade, said that this trip was veryhelpful for he learned about Africa, understood water business, with the hopingto enhance communication between Chinese and British companies and cooperate inAfrica.
