The "Alliance City" Symposium Between Central Enterprises and Zhejiang Companies was Held in CGCOC

Onthe afternoon of March 11, under the arrangement of Du Fengshan, GM of Water Companyand Vice President of Zhejiang Foreign Contracting Engineering Chamber ofCommerce, the People's Electric Group, Zhejiang Southeast Network, ZhejiangYongda Industry, Zhejiang Post and Telecommunications Engineering, Huaxin DesignInstitute, Zhejiang Dahua Company and other member companies andrepresentatives went to Beijing to participate in the special event presidedover the CGCOC of the "Alliance City" between Central Enterprises andZhejiang Companies.

Atthe meeting, firstly, the leaders of the three regions of the CGCOC, WestAfrica, French-Speaking Region and East Africa, respectively introduced theirmarket conditions and advantages of business resources. Then, the Zhejiangengineering companies introduced their main business, technical level, and overseasmarket distribution. The two sides discussed their issues in the process ofopening the African market. And Zhejiang engineering companies expressed theirdesires and willingness of using the resources of central enterprises tojointly open the African market.

YuanFengjun, Vice President of CGCOC, expressed his warm welcome to the companiesof the Chamber of Commerce. He said that CGCOC has taken root in the Africanmarket for 35 years and its business covers 27 countries in Africa, especiallyin the Nigerian regarded as the most influential Chinese contractor. Hebelieves that the current international contracting projects are increasinglydeveloping in the direction of large-scale, complex technology and comprehensivecontracting. The CGCOC has paid much attention to the communication andcooperation with local foreign economic companies and local businessassociations, and hopes to establish close cooperative relations with Zhejiangcompanies for achieving the complementary advantages of overseas resources.Besides, he mentioned that in the past two years, the Nigeria's infrastructuremarket has broad prospects, especially in the power energy and communicationindustries. With the innovation of cooperation method and investment, theallied companies will quickly occupy the local market and gain developmentopportunities.

Mr.Du thought that the symposium was very meaningful. The two sides exchanged andshared a lot. Africa has always been the main market for Zhejiang companies.Through cooperating with powerful central enterprises, Zhejiang companies thathave just “Going Abroad” will be avoided mistakes and pay less “cost”. Thissymposium is the beginning for the friendly cooperation between the two sides.In the future, the Chamber of Commerce will continue to build a platform and improveservices for putting the “Alliance City" into practice.

Itis reported that Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce is about to issue a"three-years action plan for Zhejiang-Africa economic and tradecooperation" this year, and will make major breakthroughs in trade,investment, and system with African etc.
